A little more.

Michael Steven is a singer-songwriter based in Idaho’s Treasure Valley, writing melodic Americana with roots in rock, folk, country, and blues. His music is built around strong melodies, memorable hooks, and honest lyrics drawn from life, relationships, family, hope, heartbreak, and the experiences that connect us.

Michael grew up with a wide range of influences, from Tom Petty and The Police to Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, as well as classic rock, folk, country, and blues that continue to shape his songwriting today.

His musical journey has taken him from Texas, through San Francisco’s independent music scene, and eventually to Idaho. His 2005 debut single, Chemical Imbalances, received radio play in Europe, and his EP Don’t Be Late featured the single and official video Do Your Thing.

These days, Michael is writing some of his most personal and varied music yet, with songs that range from stripped down acoustic storytelling to rootsy Americana, country rock, ballads, and full band rock and roll.

Whether playing solo, as a duo, or with a band, Michael keeps things simple: good songs, real stories, and a genuine connection with the people listening.
